Traveling in the 'Good Old Days'!

I just loved these ads from 1943 for the Pennsylvania Railroad!

And an ad from 1930 advertising Ford cars...."A Charming Companion for a busy day" Love the scene of this one. and I would love one of those cars!

  1. I love seeing people travel by rail in the old movies. I think it's a smart way to travel. But, we don't have a railroad here anymore--and I missed out on the 30s and 40s. . .
Love the old ads, though. . .

    1. I know! It is a great way to travel. We have a local train that goes to Chicago. So much fun and a lot better then fighting the traffic!

  2. I love train travel although I haven't done it for years. Your pictures are great. I'd frame some of those and use them as art work!

    1. Yes, they are so beautiful! Someday I am going to frame a bunch of them, when I find the right place to hang them........

  3. Makes me think of White Christmas when they are singing on the train! Way before kids had portable dvd players or even cell phones...gosh what did they do? Sat around and looked adorable maybe? Reminds me of the family vacations we had...

    1. The thing that makes these so special is no one advertises this way anymore, it is just all photograghs and now also digital drawn pictures.
