Decorating- 1920's Style

I have been a decorating craze lately, not a really doing craze, just a collecting and reading craze. Do you ever do that? Suddenly find yourself with a notebook of idea? Or can't go past the paint counter without picking up a few sample?  I ran across this wonderful site! Antique Home Style They have collected a fabulous collection of 1920's house plans and decorating ads. Here are a few of my favorite ones for Kitchens.
This one is my favorite! I love the clean cheery-ness of it.
Doesn't this one look cozy? A wee bit to much green for me, but I love those huge old sinks.
I have always wanted one of these "Hoosier" style cabinets. Don't they look handy? And who would have thought to put the pot lids on the door in a basket!
P.S. There is our apron of the day! A cute little gingham one over the stool!

  1. Wish I had one of those "ice boxes"! Wouldn't it look great in my farmhouse kitchen? I'm copying these photos to my file on kitchens--great information for the shotgun houses that date back to that time! And, I'm visiting the link right now!

  2. great post....My mind is in the bedroom:) If you have been by my blog, you know we are remodeling our upstairs. I can't stop looking for stuff. The room was to bedrooms in our 1906 farmhouse. So we took out the walls and now we have a large Loft. We should be done sometime in late October. I really enjoy your blog...Mary

  4. I love that first kitchen photo! I have an old sink like that, but someone took it out of the house and is storing it in the garage. I am so sad. :-(( Anyway, not to covet, but boy, I'd like an ice box like that! So cool (no pun intended...originally). :-)
