It is that time of year when a bit of green growing something is longed for. We have at lest another two months before the bulbs outside will bloom. For now we have a pot of hyacinths and crocus in the window.

We bought the bulbs in the fall to force, but just left them in the (unheated) basement since then. Last week when we poked them in the pot they had already started sprouting. Hopefully we will get flowers!

  1. That is so nice...which brand of soil do you use for indoor plants?

    1. I believe my sister (she is the gardener) uses the same as outside pots. A mixture of Miracle Grow potting soil and a generic soil from our garden center. We always feel straight Miracle Grow soil is a bit over fertilized. Plus it cuts the cost adding the cheaper dirt. This pot was actually one we had on the front porch with geraniums last summer.

  2. That's so exciting! And they're up even further than when you took the photo. Anything to help with this long, cold winter!
