A diamond in the rough! But one can't complain when it was pulled off the curb on trash day. It already is looking better with a coat of paint and new caning on the back. I was excited to try my hand at caning and for a first time project it turned out well. For $30 in supplies, paint and a bit of fabric for the seat I have a beautiful sewing room chair!
I have also been working on the bathroom medicine cabinet. It was a find off of craig's list. I love these old cabinets! This one has glass shelves and all original hardware.
Are you kidding? That was at the curb?? Good for you for rescuing it. And I like the old medicine cabinets. I remember when I was a kid and we moved to this farm house. It had a medicine cabinet with a slot for used razor blades. When the men got done shaving, evidently, they dropped their old blade into the slot and it disappeared between the walls. Cool, huh!
ReplyDeleteWhat a find! And you did the caning too?! WOW...I'm impressed! You are giving me the inspiration I need to get out in my garage and fix up a couple of old chairs I have in there for years :)
ReplyDeleteGreat finds and a job well done.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to seeing the finished product.
Aren't throw-aways the greatest! That's a beautiful chair. Some people just don't have the vision!
ReplyDeleteThat looks great. can't wait to see the finished projects !!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.
