Designing Woman

"Designing Woman" starring Gregory Peck and Lauren Bacall has been on my wish list for a long time. I can't remember how I first ended up watching it, renting it from netflix, from the library or what, but it was an instant favorite! You don't often see Lauren Bacall in a comedy and in this one she out did herself! There is some fabulous costumes designed by Helen Rose (watch for the mink dress Lauren Bacall wears to the fights!), great character actors, a fashion show, a quirky black poodle who likes shoes and a fighter who is making a come back.

  1. I've got to find this! Who doesn't like Gregory Peck. Anyway, about a month ago, WPT played (over and over) an old Lauren Bacall and Bogart movie. Fun!

    Thanks, Heide. :-)

    1. Oh you will LOVE this movie, I was nearly hysterical remembering all the funny things. I like how they illustrate the complication of two people trying to merge lives without involving inlaws and stuff. It's hard not matter what, but worth it!

  2. Heide,
I had seen episodes of Designing Women, but it was the television series that was showing back in the late 80s early 90s. I never new it was a spin-off of the 1957 Designing Woman movie with Lauren Bacall and Gregory Peck. It looks to be like a really good movie to watch this weekend. I'll have to check with my video rental store see if they have it in stock so that I can have a nice matinee tomorrow. Lauren Bacall looks so beautiful and confident. I am going to love this movie.
    Thanks Heide...
